Aimed at improving the socio-economic status of the people, Cooperative Bank of Nueva Vizcaya (CBNV), the former Samahang Nayon Cooperative Rural Bank of Nueva Vizcaya Incorporated was conceived as early as 1974. It was made possible when thirty (30) Samahang Nayons and two (2) full pledge Cooperatives, the Nueva Vizcaya Area Marketing Cooperative (AMC) and the Cagayan Valley Development Cooperative (CAVADECO), pooled their hard-earned resources and savings to come up with initial capitalization of ₱230,000.00 and this gradually increased to ₱430,000.00 to meet the capital requirements for rural bank to operate as per regulation of the Central Bank of the Philippines.
The bank was inaugurated on December 20, 1979 and its doors formally opened to serve its members and the general public on January 02, 1980.
